From McGill Library Global Health Resource Guide
[edit] Editorial Policy
Introduction
The Global Health Resource Guide is a wiki that supports teaching and research at McGill by providing a guide to information resources. It is freely accessible via the web and, therefore, is a tool useful to a broader audience. Commercial databases licensed by the McGill Library are included and may not be accessible to all in the wider community. However, the site includes instructions on how to participate in low cost or free access programs for developing countries, some of which cover databases as well as electronic journals.
Who May Contribute and Edit the Site
All McGill students, faculty, researchers and staff can contribute information and edit pages on the wiki. All members of the McGill community access the site by logging in with their McGill user name and password. People outside the McGill community are welcomed as contributors. An account to enable editing the site can be obtained from a member of the editorial board (listed below). Editorial Content The purpose of the site is to collect together and organize the resources for finding information in the field of global health in all its aspects. Included are web sites, databases, and publications, including some in print only, from various disciplines that support the academic mission of the University and the Library. News, in particular, notification of publications releases or upcoming meetings, is posted regularly. Information posted to the site should be of a non-commercial nature, although commercial databases and publications may be added if they provide access to information useful to the global health community. Some sites will be beyond the scope of the site, including those designed for a small, specific audience or those promoting specific political viewpoints. Copyrighted material should not be posted to this site.
